Francesca Woodman

Some Disordered Interior Geometries

I first came across Francesca Woodman’s work in the library whilst researching a design project at university. I wont even say how many years ago that was! It was love at first sight. The images had an incredible power and were unlike anything I’d ever seen before. Some Disordered Interior Geometries (1981) was the only book of her photographs ever published during her lifetime. She took her own life by jumping out of the window of a loft apartment in New York following a bout of depression. This tragic end is miasmatic almost.
